
this argument is ridiculous. yes, the constitution says you have the right to practice whatever religion you like, but imposing laws/rules/sanctions/whatever on people based on your one faith is also a violation of those peoples constitutional freedoms and liberties. the constitution works both ways. that’s why it’s awesome.
more so, there’s a tid bit in the constitution that separates church and state, so by enacting this sort of faith based legislation would in fact be unconstitutional.
you can’t use an unconstitutional argument to argue FOR your constitutional freedoms.
